Under the umbrella term "theatermaker," Sophie performs, directs, does drag, & builds masks & puppets for the live stage. Her own projects include her solo show "Arachne" (2006 Boulder Fringe), directing FLUID, and co-creating The Only Cabaret in NYC, VOTE DEBS!, and Peg-ass-us.

In New York City, she has performed with the South Wing at HERE Arts Center, PS 122 and the Japan Society, (AOI!, The Gospel According to Jack Vitrolo, and Secret Rendezvous), as well as with East Third Ensemble, Aeolian Theater, Lone Wolf Tribe and The Nerve Tank. She has toured with the International Theatre Collective (Seattle, Boulder, St. Louis and Canadian Fringe Festivals) and Denver's LIDA Project (Austin, Atlanta, London, UK). In 2010, she appeared in Friend's Enemy, created collaboratively with Seattle's Nebunele Theatre. She received her BA in theater at Yale, and has trained in mask, clown, Suzuki and other forms of physical theater.
